Cup Run Continues

Bavaria FCC book a place in their first Semi Final after engineering a commanding performance against Britannia that saw them run out 12-1 winners.

Kicking off the Futsal Divison 4 Cup Quarter finals, the Pinks push for silverware continued as they came up against a determined Britannia FC.

Fielding a strong line-up, the Pinks took control of the match from the early minutes bossing play and maintaining a high pressing that made putting passes difficult for the opposition. Dylan Casciaro was in inspired form and put the pinks ahead with a clever finish after brilliant build up play. Despite Britannia’s determined defensive display, including some brilliant saves by the opposition goalkeeper, Casciaro quickly doubled the lead with his second of the match. After putting together a passing master class, Casciaro completed his Hat-Trick with a headed goal at the back post following an assist from Craig Gillingwater. The goal – Arguably contender for goal of the season, was met by a standing ovation from the crowd, who were enjoying the football being played. The Pinks build-up play was both precise and impressive as they steamed into the half time break 6-0 up with further goals from Ian Latin (2) and Chris Remorino. Kicking off the second half, Britannia piled pressure on the Pink defence and it paid off as they managed to find a consolation goal after a clinical finish which left Goalkeeper and captain Frank Warwick fuming. The comeback was not to happen however as Gillingwater and Remorino slotted home and, following a clever dink over the opposition keeper, Casciaro scored his fourth and final goal of the match. Further goals from Walker and Latin, who were determined to keep pace with Casciaro, firmly put the Pinks into the Semi Finals for the first time.

MOTM: Making his comeback to the Bavaria line-up, Jaylan Desoiza put in a solid performance holding the line for the Pinks. He showed signs of his spectacular form at the beginning of the season by commanding the back line throughout the match as well as going forward and grabbing arguably one of the goals of the match after he sped past opposition defenders and Goalkeeper before comfortably slotting home via the post.
The pinks go into the draw along with League Leaders South, Humphries FC and Sporting FC as their push for silverware continues.
